Here we go all you Barry Roubaix Gravel lovers!  We are excited and hopeful that the announced October 2, 2021 event date will give us a great chance to once again race and celebrate in Hastings, Michigan.  Naturally, there is still a lot of uncertainty with the pandemic that may lead us to alter parts of the traditional event including; packet pick up, start, finish, after-party, awards….. Our major goal is to maintain the integrity of the event you’ve come to love, but some portions may require tweaking to comply with State and CDC restrictions.
Our number one goal is to make decisions that are responsible and keep our racers, volunteers and the general public safe! We also want to be upfront with our event plans, so you know what to expect with your 2021 Barry Roubaix event experience.

With that said, we will implement a tiered registration process that will allow us to manage the number of racers based on guidelines and what we view as safe and manageable. We also want everyone to know that should the 2021 event need to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic; all registered racers will receive a full refund (less BikeReg service fees).

Here’s how registration for the 2021 Founders Barry Roubaix will unfold:

EVENT REGISTRATION PROCESS

  1. You donated your 2020 race registration (all distances).
We promised that you’d have a reserved spot available to register and pay for in the 2021 race. We’ve established a “pre-registration” window providing you the opportunity to sign up.  You will receive an email on 4/5/21 (to your BikeReg listed email) with a unique code allowing one entry into the 2021 event. Registration for this group will open 4/10/21 at Noon EST. You will have a two-week window to sign up on BikeReg and the ability to change race distance or transfer your entry to the waitlist anytime until 9/8/21.

  2. You requested to receive a refund for your 2020 race entry (all distances)
You will receive an email on 4/23/21 (to your BikeReg listed email) with a unique code allowing you one priority entry TO THE WAITLIST. Registration for this group will open 4/24/21 at Noon EST. Your “place in line” on the waitlist will be determined by the date and time you registered. As we see opportunities to grow the overall attendance, or as registered riders transfer out of the event, you may be automatically moved off the waitlist and into the actual event (you will only be charged when you are moved into the event). If you decide you no longer wish to attend the event ** PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE WAITLIST ** so you aren’t automatically entered and charged. The waitlist is automated and there is no advanced notice of when you will be moved into the race, only a confirmation email once you are entered.

  3. General public & those not previously registered for the 2020 race
We will open registration to the general public on 5/8/21 at Noon ET.  Your “place in line” on the waitlist will be determined by the date and time you registered for the waitlist understanding that some 2020 entrants are in front of you based on a priority pre-registration window.

Additional notes:

  • IMPORTANT: please verify the email address associated with your BikeReg account is accurate, and if you do not see correspondence on the listed dates please check your junk/SPAM folders!

  • Q: “I don’t remember if I donated my entry or requested a refund?”  A: We documented all 2020 responses and you will receive an email with your unique registration code based on that selection.

  • Q: “How do I see my place in line on the wait list?”  A: Go to our BikeReg registration page and select “who’s registered” from the top menu.
